Established in 2009, Andersen-Andersen is a family-owned Danish company specialising in high-quality unisex knitwear.
Born of a desire to create the world’s best sailor-style sweaters, each garment is designed in Denmark and expertly knitted in Italy from 100% pure new wool sourced in Patagonia and Uruguay. The result is a range of classic heavyweight sweaters and cardigans that draw on Danish maritime tradition and are built to last a lifetime.
SIGNATURE SAILOR & NAVY AND MARINE STYLES
The most well-known and loved styles from the brand, the Sailor series features a 7-gauge knit, a knitted neckline triangle for a better fit, and integrated thumb holes inspired by vintage Danish sailor knitwear.
Inspired by 1930s and 1940s military clothing, the heavy-duty Navy series which will arrive with us soon was developed following the success of the Sailor line. This heavier line of knitwear features a symmetrical shape, thumb holes, and a signature triangle neck.
Thanks to the skill of their Italian knitters, who integrated the triangle directly into the neckline, Andersen-Andersen navy and sailor crewnecks feature a fully knitted collar rather than one sewn on afterward.
Alongside the heavier knitwear lines, the Marine Line is the lightest knitted wool collection. Spun from a 12-gauge extra-spun merino wool, this lightweight line is highly heat-retentive and works exceptionally well as a mid-layer. It features the same symmetrical design elements as the other collections and is fully fashioned in Italy.

Andersen-Andersen focuses exclusively on premium raw materials. Their 100% Merino wool is sourced from Patagonia and is mulesing-free, ensuring high standards of animal welfare. Additionally, all garments are crafted at a single, family-owned mill in Italy, allowing for strict quality control and a precise, tight-knit construction that prevents premature stretching or pilling.
